When I (owner and founder, Samm!), graduated college, I did so thinking that I would always be a teacher. After several years of teaching on the South Side of Chicago, and loving the difference I made, I and my then fiance made the difficult decision to move back to my childhood home: the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

During our first year of marriage, I worked for the local newspaper, tutored high school students, and helped my family at their manufacturing business, but when teaching positions simply didn't present themselves, I knew I needed to find another career path that would fulfill my passions and creativity. "Open a Hallmark store!", my mom told me. So, I did, and Mully & Mo's, a Hallmark "store in a store", was born. In addition to carrying Hallmark product, promotions, and Gold Crown items, we also carry many other vendors, specializing in one of a kind pieces that focus on Farmhouse and Boho living.

From conception to reality was 6 months, and Rob and I were thrust into the life of retail rather abruptly -- we were baptized by fire -- and our then 7 month old pup learned to grow up in the shop. Mulligan, our Mini Goldendoodle, comes to the store every day that I work, and even on days when I don't, because the girls who work for us are in love with him. He absolutely loves the customers and the attention that he gets, and looks forward to his daily treat from the delivery men.

It wasn't what I thought I would be doing with the rest of my life, but you know what? I think it's better that way. Life is always unpredictable and full of surprises. I wanted to open a store that was unique and one of a kind, that offered home decor and paper products that were classic yet modernly rustic, and wanted to highlight the makers and artists of my home state. In the store, there are over 20 Michigan artists displayed on the floor, and over 25 U.S. based artists and vendors. When you walk through the store doors, I & all the gals of Mully & Mo's can't wait to be your very own "personal shoppers", and look forward to helping you have the best "hometown experience" possible. So stop on by, give Mully a pet, and become part of the M&M family.
